  • Fangfang LiFangfang Li joined UNU-IIGH in 2017 as a PhD fellow where she will be focusing on completing her dissertation writing. She is currently a doctoral candidate in the program of TransGlobal Health at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands jointly with the Barcelona Centre for International Health Research in Spain. This project has been funded by the Erasmus Mundus Scheme in Europe and EFEO fieldwork fellowship in France.

Her doctoral project seeks to understand the understudied effects of multi-layer influences on youth’s acquisition of health-related behaviors, its formation and transformation, especially in dietary and nutraceutical consumption, upon youth’s frequent mobility between countryside and cities in Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan. This project aligns well with her long-standing research interests in the relationship between social transition and its broad impact on individual and population wellbeing.

Prior to her PhD, she obtained a MS.c. in Global Health Science from Oxford University and a B.A. in Sociology from Shanghai University China. She has also studied at UC Berkeley and University of Minnesota as an exchange student.
