Inez Roosen is a Research Assistant at UNU-MERIT/MGSoG. She obtained a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Human Development with a specialization in Migration studies at UNU-MERIT/MGSoG. Additionally she holds a Master’s degree in Health Education and Promotion and a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences at Maastricht University. During her studies at the UNU-MERIT/MGSoG she was an intern at the Migration Group where she was part of the Migration and Health project – Evidence from Demographic and Health Survey (DHS), where she analysed the DHS for Afghanistan. After her studies she continued working as an intern for the Migration Group supporting numerous migration projects where she gained competency in both qualitative and quantitative migration research techniques. Her main research interest is in the area of migration and development, particularly in health and migration and social remittances.
