Simone Sasso joined UNU-MERIT as a PhD Fellow in October 2011. He holds an MSc in Local Economic Development from the London School of Economics, as well as a BSc and an MSc in Economics and Business from the University of Turin. He has worked as researcher and consultant on regional development and innovation issues at the International Labour Organization (Turin and Kathmandu), at the European Commission (Brussels), and at the Instituto National de Tecnología Industrial (Buenos Aires). Simone has a variety of research interests in the broad fields of regional development and economics of innovation. His PhD thesis is about the impact of graduate and highly-skilled flows on the economic and innovative performances of firms and regions.
