The United Nations University Institute on Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH) acts as the “UN Think Tank on Water” contributing to the resolution of the global water challenges through knowledge syntheses, cutting-edge targeted policy relevant research, application of on-the-ground science-backed scalable solutions to water issues, and public outreach. It conceives, develops, and manages water initiatives that help developing countries build their capacity for improvements in human and ecosystem health, increased resilience to climate and water-related shocks, overall reduction in poverty and increased national security.
