The final conference of the IS Academy Migration and Development project was held in Maastricht from 22-24 January 2014. The IS Academy Migration and Development Final Conference was the culmination of a five year research project financed by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and implemented by Maastricht University. The project involved data collection in five sites – Afghanistan, Burundi, Ethiopia, Morocco and the Netherlands – and centred on the key themes of remittances, return migration, ‘brain drain’, and the external dimension of EU mobility policy.
