By reviewing the book “The Transnational Governance of Violence and Crime. Non-state Actors in Security” by Ana Jacobi and Dieter Wolf (Palgrave Mcmillan 2013), this article focuses on how it is possible to distinguish different roles for Non-state Actors that are involved in the Transnational Governance of Violence and Crime, depending on the interests they represent, whether collective or private.
