Forced Migration is an important focus area for the UNU Migration Network’s research projects. It encompasses any migratory movements arising as a result of non-voluntary factors. Ongoing work examines migration resulting from persecution, violence and war, as well as migration that results from environmental and economic pressures. Forced, or involuntary, migrants are often the most vulnerable, and so projects examining the situation for vulnerable migrants may also fall within this focus area.
